About the Sea Turtle
A sea turtle is a large ocean reptile that spends almost its whole life in the water, swimming with flipper-shaped legs. There are seven kinds, and most are in danger of disappearing. Female sea turtles often travel back to the very beach where they hatched to lay their own eggs in the sand. Use this in an ocean unit and trace the path along the shell to the flippers.
- There are seven species of sea turtle, and five are threatened with extinction.
- Females often return to the beach where they hatched to lay eggs.
- Sea turtles are reptiles that breathe air but live mostly in the sea.
