About the Shrimp
A shrimp is a small crustacean with a slim body, a fan-shaped tail, and long feelers, and it swims by flicking its tail. Shrimp live in oceans and rivers all over the world, and many are almost see-through. One kind, the snapping shrimp, can close its claw so fast it makes a loud popping sound in the water. Print this for an ocean unit and trace the path down the curved body to the tail.
- Most shrimp swim by quickly flicking their fan-shaped tails.
- Snapping shrimp make a loud pop by closing a claw at high speed.
- Shrimp live in both salt water and fresh water.
