About the Stork
Storks are tall wading birds with long legs, long necks, and heavy, straight bills. They wade through shallow water and grassy fields hunting for frogs, fish, and insects. Many storks build enormous stick nests on rooftops, poles, or trees and return to the same nest year after year. This maze fits a pond or wading-birds theme, and the long legs make a good starting point for the path.
- They fly with the neck stretched out and the legs trailing behind.
- The same big nest may be reused for many years.
- Storks have no voice box, so they clatter their bills to communicate.
