About the Stingray
Stingrays are flat, wide fish that glide along the sea floor by rippling the edges of their body like wings. Most have a sharp, barbed spine on the tail that they use only to defend themselves. Like sharks, their skeletons are made of bendy cartilage instead of bone. This maze fits an ocean or seabed unit, and the wide, flat body gives plenty of space to trace the path.
- About 220 stingray species are known.
- They often bury themselves in sand to hide and ambush prey.
- Their eyes sit on top of the body while the mouth is underneath.
