About the Squid
A squid is a soft-bodied ocean animal with eight arms, two longer tentacles, and a pair of large eyes. It belongs to the same group as the octopus, and instead of a hard shell it has a thin, flexible support inside called a pen. Squid can shoot a cloud of ink to hide and jet backwards by squirting water, letting them escape in a hurry. This maze fits an ocean or sea-creatures unit, and the many arms give the path plenty of twists.
- The giant squid has eyes about the size of a dinner plate.
- Squid can change colour to hide or to signal to each other.
- Like other cephalopods, a squid has three hearts.
