About the Baseball
A baseball is the small, hard ball at the center of this bat-and-ball game. A pitcher throws it toward a batter, who tries to hit it far enough to run around four bases and score. Each ball is wrapped in white leather and held together by exactly 108 red stitches, sewn by hand in two rows. Use this printable for a batter-up sports corner where kids follow the seams around the ball.
- A regulation baseball has 108 double stitches holding its leather cover on.
- A run scores when a player rounds all four bases back to home plate.
