About the Quetzalcoatlus
As tall as a giraffe when it stood on the ground, Quetzalcoatlus was one of the largest flying animals ever. It was a pterosaur, a flying reptile, rather than a true dinosaur, and it soared on enormous leathery wings. It was named after Quetzalcoatl, a feathered serpent god of the ancient Aztecs. Use it in a giants-of-the-sky theme, tracing the path across its huge wing.
- Quetzalcoatlus was a flying reptile, not a true dinosaur.
- Standing up, it was about as tall as a giraffe.
- It was one of the largest flying animals ever to live.
