About the Cockatoo
A cockatoo is a kind of parrot that raises a fan of feathers on top of its head like a crest. These birds come from Australia and nearby islands, and there are about twenty-one kinds. When a cockatoo is excited or surprised, it lifts that crest straight up to show how it feels. Trace the path up to the crest, then draw the feathers standing tall.
- A cockatoo raises the feathery crest on its head when excited.
- Cockatoos belong to the parrot family and can be very loud.
