About the Llama
Llamas are gentle, woolly animals from the mountains of South America, related to camels but without a hump. For hundreds of years, people in the Andes have used them to carry loads along steep mountain trails. Llamas hum softly to one another, and a grumpy llama may spit to show it is annoyed. A fun choice for a South America or farm theme, following the path up the mountainside.
- Llamas are relatives of camels but have no hump.
- Andean people have used llamas as pack animals for centuries.
