About the Frog
With smooth skin and long jumping legs, frogs are amphibians that begin life in the water as tadpoles. As they grow, they sprout legs and hop onto land while keeping close to ponds and streams. A frog actually uses its eyes to help swallow, blinking so the eyeballs press down and push food into its throat. Ideal for a pond or life-cycle lesson, with a path that leaps from lily pad to lily pad.
- Frogs start life as tadpoles in the water before growing legs.
- A frog blinks to help push food down its throat when it swallows.
- Toads are simply frogs with drier, bumpier skin.
