About the Cat
The house cat is a small, meat-eating mammal and the only member of the cat family that lives comfortably alongside people. It has sharp, retractable claws, quick reflexes, and excellent night vision for hunting small prey. Cats sleep a great deal, resting for around two-thirds of the day. This one fits a pets theme and is gentle enough for younger children just building pencil control.
- Cats have claws that pull back when not in use, keeping them sharp.
- A cat's night vision is far better than ours, helping it see in dim light.
- The house cat is the only domesticated member of the cat family.
