About the Rainbow
A rainbow is a curved band of colors that appears in the sky after rain. Sunlight shines into tiny water droplets, bends inside them, and splits into its separate colors on the way out. A rainbow always appears in the part of the sky opposite the sun, so you must have the sun at your back to see one. Print this for a light-and-color lesson and trace each colored arc through.
- A rainbow appears in the part of the sky directly opposite the sun.
- Sunlight bends and splits inside raindrops to make the band of colors.
