About the Jack-in-the-Box
A jack-in-the-box is a toy box with a little crank on the side. As you turn the handle, a tune plays, often 'Pop Goes the Weasel,' and then, without warning, the lid springs open and a figure, usually a clown, pops up to surprise you. Part of the fun is never being quite sure which turn will set it off. Wind the crank-shaped path of this jack-in-the-box maze, a surprising fit for a music or playtime theme.
- Turning the crank plays a tune before the lid springs open.
- Many of these toys pop up at the word 'pop' in 'Pop Goes the Weasel.'
