About the Abalone
An abalone is a sea snail with a low, ear-shaped shell that clamps tightly onto rocks. A row of small holes runs along the edge of the shell, letting the animal breathe and pass water through. The inside of the shell shimmers with rainbow colors, a material called mother-of-pearl. Print this for a tide-pool unit and trace along the row of little holes.
