About the Banana
A banana is a long, curved fruit with soft, starchy flesh inside a peel that you can pull off. It grows in clusters near the top of a tall plant that looks like a tree but is actually a giant herb. Bananas grow pointing upward toward the sun, not hanging down as you might expect. Set this printable out for a counting game, tallying the bananas in the bunch as you trace the path.
- A banana is botanically a berry.
- Bananas grow in upward-pointing clusters near the top of the plant.
- Cooking bananas are called plantains.
