About the Styracosaurus

A spectacular fan of long spikes fanned out from the frill behind the head of Styracosaurus. A single big horn stuck up from its nose, which may have grown as long as your arm. Together the horn and spikes made this plant-eater look fierce and may have helped scare off attackers. Use it in a counting activity, tracing the path around the frill and counting the spikes.

  • Styracosaurus had a ring of long spikes around its neck frill.
  • A single tall horn grew on its nose.
  • It was a plant-eater that lived in North America.
