About the Pheasant
Pheasants are ground-loving birds with plump bodies and very long, sweeping tails. The males are especially colorful, with shiny feathers and a long striped tail, while the females are plain brown for hiding. They come originally from Asia but now live in fields and woods in many countries. Trace the long striped tail, then color the male's glossy green-and-copper feathers.
- Male pheasants have long striped tails and shiny, colorful feathers.
- Pheasants spend most of their time on the ground rather than flying.
