About the Submarine
A submarine is a vessel built to travel deep underwater as well as on the surface. It can fill special tanks with water to sink down, then push the water back out to rise again. Sailors call it a boat, no matter how large it is. Print this for an under-the-sea or how-things-work lesson and trace the path from bow to stern.
- A submarine sinks and rises by taking in and pushing out water.
- Even the biggest submarines are called boats, not ships.
