About the Scallion
A scallion, also called a green onion, is a slim vegetable with a white base and long green tops. Both the white and green parts can be eaten, whether raw or cooked. It has a milder, sweeter taste than a full-grown onion and has no round bulb. Use this printable for a garden or cooking lesson, tracing the long stem from root to leaf.
- Scallions are milder than regular onions.
- You can eat both the white and green parts.
