About the Eraser
An eraser is a small, soft block used to rub out pencil marks from paper. As it drags across a stray line, it lifts the loose graphite away, leaving the page clean for a fresh try. Long ago, before rubber, people even rubbed out mistakes with bits of bread. Rub out a path through this eraser maze, a forgiving fit for a handwriting activity.
- Erasers were once made from soft pieces of bread.
- Many pencils have a small eraser fixed on one end.
