About the Tambourine
A tambourine is a round frame set with pairs of little metal discs that jingle when it moves. You can tap it, shake it, or hit it against your hand, and many tambourines also have a skin stretched over one side like a small drum. It is easy to play and adds a bright rattle to almost any song. Print this for a rhythm lesson and trace around the frame past the jingles.
- The small jingling metal discs around the frame are called zills.
- A tambourine can be shaken or struck, and some have a drumhead too.
- It is often used to keep a lively beat in a song.
