About the Rake
A rake is a long-handled garden tool with a row of teeth, called tines, along the bottom. Dragging it across the ground pulls fallen leaves and grass into a tidy pile, and a stiffer kind can also smooth and level soil. It saves a lot of bending and picking up by hand. Trace the handle down to the teeth and count them for a fall theme.
- A rake's row of teeth gathers leaves and grass into a pile.
- Some rakes are used to smooth and level garden soil.
