About the Peach
A peach is a soft, juicy fruit with fuzzy skin and a large pit in the center. It grows on a leafy tree that loses its leaves each winter. Peaches and nectarines are actually the same kind of fruit, the difference being that nectarines have smooth skin instead of fuzz. Print this for a summer or orchard theme, and children can trace the round peach and its little leaf.
- A peach has fuzzy skin and a single large pit.
- Peaches and nectarines are the same species.
- Peaches are closely related to almonds.
