About the Castle
A castle is a fortified home built during the Middle Ages, usually for a lord, noble, or ruler. Unlike a plain palace meant only for comfort, a castle was made to be defended, with thick walls and features such as narrow arrowslits and heavy iron gates called portcullises. Real castles came in many shapes, but nearly all were built to keep enemies out. Trace the winding path up to the gate on this printable and color the tall stone towers.
