About the Straw
A drinking straw is a thin tube you use to sip a drink up from a cup or bottle. When you suck on the top, you lower the air pressure inside, and the drink rises up to your mouth. The bendy straw was invented so someone lying down could sip more easily. Print this page for a science or fine-motor activity, tracing the long tube from bottom to top.
- A straw works by lowering the air pressure so the drink rises.
- The bendable straw was designed to make sipping easier.
