About the Triceratops
Three sharp horns and a wide bony frill make Triceratops one of the easiest dinosaurs to recognize. Its name even means 'three-horned face'. This plant-eater was among the very last dinosaurs, living right up until the great extinction 66 million years ago. Use it in a letter-T tracing activity, following the path from the frill out to the tip of each horn.
- Triceratops had two long horns above its eyes and one shorter horn on its nose.
- A wide bony frill spread out behind its head.
- It was one of the last dinosaurs before they died out.
