About the Macaron
Two crisp almond shells with a soft filling between them make up a macaron, a small round French sweet. It is built from whipped egg whites, sugar, and finely ground almonds, so each bite is crunchy outside and chewy in the middle. Bakers often tint them in pastel colors, which is why a box of macarons looks like a row of tiny rainbows. This printable fits a bakery or color-matching lesson, with a smooth outline that is gentle to trace.
- A macaron is made from two almond-and-egg-white shells with filling between.
- Food coloring gives macarons their soft pastel shades.
- The macaron is different from the coconut macaroon, which is a chewier cookie.
