About the Hawk
Sharp-eyed and swift, hawks are birds of prey found on every continent except icy Antarctica. Circling high on outstretched wings, a hawk can spot a tiny mouse moving in the grass far below, then dive to catch it in its claws. Their curved beaks are made for tearing food once they land. Trace the soaring flight path for a birds-of-prey center, then color the fanned tail feathers.
- A hawk's eyesight is keen enough to see small prey from high in the sky.
- Hawks catch food with their sharp claws, called talons.
